160th Celebration! 12/6/2014
Old St. Mary’s is the first Cathedral in the West and the first church in the universal church to be named after the dogma of the Immaculate Conception pronounced by Pope Pius IX in 1854. The actual feast day is December 8th, but we will celebrate it on the weekend of December 6-7. We will have a festive celebration of our 160th at the 5:00 p.m. Mass on December 6 followed by a reception and elegant dinner in the auditorium. On Sunday, December 7 we will have a Bi-lingual Parish Unity Mass at 11:15 a.m. followed by a luncheon for all parishioners and visitors. A 160th Anniversary Committee has been formed but we are still in need of more volunteers to serve on the various committees. If interested in helping us celebrate this milestone, please contact Julie Todd at 415-288-3809.
