Ash Wednesday 3/5/2014
Ash Wednesday is Wednesday March 5, 2014. Old St. Mary's will have masses with distribution of ashes at 7:30AM, 12:05 PM, and 5:15 PM, and Word Services with Distribution of Ashes at 2 PM and 3 PM. We will also hold Word Services with Distribution of Ashes at the Bently Reserve Building

Stations of the Cross: Fridays during Lent, beginning 3/7/2014
Stations of the Cross will be held on the Fridays of Lent beginning Friday, March 7 at 5:15 PM. All are invited to come and join in this Lenten prayer.
Church Clean Up Day 3/1/2014
On Saturday, March 1 we will have a church cleaning party from 9:00 am to 12 noon in preparation for Ash Wednesday. We needvolunteers to help us spruce up the church for Lent. Presentation: Lenten Customs, Developments & History 3/9/2014
Join Fr. Geoge Fitzgerald, CSP on Sunday March 9 at 12:30PM in Hecker Hall for a presentation on Lenten Customs, Developments and History from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday. Fr. Fitzgerald, in residence at Old St. Mary's, will take us on the journey from Ash Wednesday through Easter Sunday, explaining the development of the season of Lent, ashes, fasting, instruction of people preparing for baptism, Marci Gras, hot cross buns up through the liturgies of Holy Thursday through Easter Sunday. Come and hear about some of the customs you probably never thought about. Light lunch will be served. All are welcome!
New Sunday Mass Times!
We've changed our Sunday mass schedule! We still have the 5PM Vigil Mass on Saturday, but on Sundays our schedule is as follows: 8:00AM, 9:15AM (Contemporary music), 10:15AM (Mass in Chinese), and 11:15AM (Choir). See you at one of our new mass times soon!

Martin de Porres Dinners
Every third Sunday of the month Old St. Mary’s parishioners prepare and serve a meal for the poor at San Francisco’s St. Martin de Porres Dining Room. For more information, please call us at 415-288-3800. If you wish to contribute money to purchase food (600-700 meals are served), donations are gratefully accepted at the Paulist Center Bookstore.
